Hello Lovelies! The Sketchy Leaves and Shattered stamps from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous 2023 Halloween Release are so beautiful and I did not want to limit them to a card for my first project, but something that I could look at over and over again. So I ended up here with a little Fall sign decor piece for my wall.
I've been wanting to mix purple with some earthy neutral tones for a while and decided that this would be great to try over this Shattered background.
Sketchy Leaves and Shattered are two of the six stamp sets in the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous 2023 Halloween Release. The full release also includes stencils and is shown below. You can get it as a bundle, but each stamp and stencil set is also available to purchase individually from Simon Says Stamp.
Let's take a closer look at the Stamps we'll use for this make:
In addition, we'll need a couple of key items to pull off today's make:

PROJECT WALKTHROUGH
STAMPING AND EMBOSSING
Stamp the Sketchy Leaves image in Distress Embossing Ink onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white 110lb Neenah Cardstock. Cover the inked image with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.
Use the provided Grid Block or a stamping tool to stamp the Shattered image in Distress Embossing Ink onto a 6" x 8" piece of white 110lb Neenah Cardstock. Cover the inked image with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.
INK-BLENDING AND FUSSY-CUTTING
Use the Mini Round Ink-blending Tool to blend the Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the gold embossed image until you achieve an even color throughout the front and back of the leaf. Use the Mini-Snips to cut out the leaf with an ~1/8" outline.
Use the Mini Round Ink-blending Tools to blend the Distress ink colors over the gold embossed image in an irregular pattern (so that you do not end up with straight lines of color).
Apply the colors in the following order: Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac, Gathered Twigs, Fossilized Amber. Be heavy handed with your colors so that you get rich tones.
Trim the excess cardstock that does not have the Shattered stamp embossed on it:
~ 4 3/4" x 6 1/4"
Using the Mini Round Ink-blending Tool, apply Shaded Lilac Distress Ink to white cardstock, stamp with "Autumn Vibes" from the Tiny Frights Stamp Set or your favorite Fall Sentiment and trim using the Deckle Trimmer. Add a little Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves to the corners of your sentiment.
APPLYING TEXTURE PASTE
Use Painters Tape to secure the ink-blended image to your craft surface
Secure the Fractured Stencil using painters tape over the ink-blended image (towards the right side)
Apply Translucent Texture Paste over the image using a Palette Knife
Carefully place the Fractured Stencil over the left side so that you can add a little more of the pattern on that side without smashing the paste that has already been applied
Set aside to dry
EMBELLISHING THE VINTAGE TRINKET
Apply some Shaded Lilac Distress Paint mostly to the raised parts of the trinket with your finger
Heat set with the heat tool
Allow to cool off and then use a palette knife (or your finger) to apply a little Gilded Foundry Wax randomly to the trinket
Heat set the Foundry Wax to reveal the beautiful color
CREATING THE BASE OF THE SIGN
Trim just the edges of the Shattered background using the Deckle Trimmer. Apply foam tape to the background.
Use a Guillotine Trimmer to cut the Simon Chipboard to 5" x 7" and round the corners with a We R Makers Cropadile Corner Chomper. Adhere the Shattered background to the chipboard backing.
Mark where the Hitch Fasteners should be placed with a pencil. Punch a 1/8" hole using a hole punch. Tie a piece of twine or ribbon in a coordinating color from your stash to hang the sign from.
Apply foam tape to the back of the Autumn Vibes sentiment and to the back to the fussy-cut Sketchy Leaf and adhere to the Shattered background.
Adhere the vintage trinket under the sentiment to complete the sign as shown.
I don't know what possessed me to use texture paste over the Shattered background, but I am SO glad that I did. It's such a cool effect
I really didn't think I would be able to pull off embossing such a detailed leaf, but somehow it worked out, so don't be shy to give it a try the next time you are hesitating about a detailed image.
I'm not sure if this specific trinket is widely available, but Tim has sooo many, so just chose your favorite and distress it with a bit of paint and Foundry Wax.
I hope this inspired you to make some Fall decor for your space or to share as a gift to your loved ones.
Thank you for stopping by and sticking with me throughout this long post. Leave me a comment with your thoughts please. It really does make my day and I am always happy to take any questions.

Thank you for your inspiration!!! I was able to use it to make two cards for two people going through a very very difficult time: my sister in law with ALS and my dearest friend who is dealing with the greatest nightmare of her life. You've blessed me so I could bless them. I don't make an inventory; I make them one at a time thinking about the recipient, praying for them through the process.
Utterly beautiful with a great use of color to provide that WOW factor.
Very Nice Keisha Diann!! Colors Extraordinaire!!! Thanks, Denise
Absolutely stunning! I love your colour choices.
