I'll admit it, I have a big crush on Slimline cards that is only exceeded by my new fondness for MINI Slimline cards! The Mini slimline size at Simon Says Stamp is 3 1/8" x 6 1/4".
In today's project's both of my slimlines feature textured, colorful backgrounds paired with a mostly neutral large die-cut and sassy sentiment strip celebrating Mother's Day. A full product list is located at the bottom of this post for your convenience.
I am all about saving time in the craft room and if you don't want to make your own card base, you can get a precut and scored Mini Slimline Card Base (see left pic) and the matching envelopes (see right pic)!
Dies and stencils are great ways to give a card texture and dimension and I couldn't wait to play with both of these new goodies from the All The Feels release!
In the first card I used diecut blossoms from the Happy Mother's Day Die Set to make a simple background of randomly placed flowers. Note: As I used cardstock from my stash, I recommended some comparable Simon Says Stamp 100lb cardstock which you can use to achieve similar results. :-)
In the second card, I used the I Like Small Dots Stencil to ink dots in hues of blue and green onto my card base and then layered Stickles Glitter Gel directly on top of the stenciled dots
The cards are finished off with another time-saving favorite from Simon Says Stamp, Sentiment Strips. For this Mother's Day project I used the Sassy Mama Reverse Sentiment Strips, which had me giggling and crafting at the same time. You can see why below:
