Hello Lovelies! Just go ahead an add this stencil to cart, it's such a standout pattern and don't get me started on the color combo and texture possibilities!
I'm a bit biased because I love layering stencils, but this Lava Lamp design is my new groovy friend and was clearly made to be paired with the You're Out of This World die!
Speaking of color combos I've been using Concord & 9th's recently released cardstock and inks to create a color combo swatch book. Though it took me a weekend to finish them, it was time well spent I have used them to inspire my color choices on several projects.
Today, I'll be using Concord's ink with this stencil, but you can color match to the inks that you have and it will still be lovely!
Now, let's take a look at the key supplies.

PICTORIAL GUIDE
Secure a Lava Lamp stencil to the your craft surface with painter's tape (I used my MISTI and mat here, but it was not necessary since I used the painter's tape)
The Stencil has 6 layers; it does not matter which colors you select for each layer. I used a single color per layer
Here is the completed Lava Lamp stenciled background. Take a last look before we cut it up for our card!
Trim the stenciled background to 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
Stamp the Twinkling Stars Cling Stamp onto a card base using Mushroom Ink
Die-cut some dark blue Velvet Cardstock and a piece of a Foam Sheet using the smallest Nested Star
Adhere the star layers, add foam tape to the back of the stenciled background and adhere all the pieces together to finish.
Color Combo Swatch got this card off the ground!
That blue velvet star is looks AND feels good! Never thought I would saw that about a card.
The sentiment die-cut and a random scattering of rhinestones finishes this fun card!
All done and all pretty!
Lovelies, I hope this was as fun for you as it was for me to make this. Something about coloring the stencil layers is so relaxing. If you end up choosing this one, try a couple color combos and add to your stash of backgrounds.
Happy Crafting!
