SOME DAYS TRULY SUCK CARD - Die-cutting, Embossing and Foiling

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Red pink and purple All the Joy Christmas card with birds and holly leaves

COLOR PALETTE

It's all about the cardstock today!

  • Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Banana

  • Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Lavender

  • Simon Says Stamp - Cotton Candy

  • Hero Arts Hues Premium Cardstock - Coral (I used a scrap from my stash, that I can't identify but this is a good option too)

CARD WALKTHROUGH

EMBOSSING & DIE-CUTTING

  1. Emboss a 4" x 5" piece of Lavender cardstock and a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of White cardstock with the Sound Waves Embossing Folder.

  2. Die-cut the Nested Domed Arches Frames out of the selected cardstock in the following order going largest to smallest:

    1. Coral

    2. Cotton Candy

    3. Banana

    4. Lavender

    5. Coral

    6. Cotton Candy

  3. Adhere the frames with Craft Glue to the debossed side of the white cardstock as shown.

  4. Trim the adhered frames at the bottom of the smallest Cotton Candy frome to create a rainbow.

  5. Fussy cut around the rainbow leaving a small white border.

FOILING

  1. Turn on your laminator to heat it up.

  2. Tip: I like to foil several Sentiments Strips at once while I have the laminator out.  You can trim your Strips to just include the one you prefer for this card or do several like me! Trim a matching piece of foil to cover the selected Strip(s) and place both inside of a folded piece of parchment paper as shown.

  3. Run the "sandwich" of parchment paper, foil and strips through the heated laminator.

  4. Remove foil from Strips and trim the selected strip if neeeded.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Adhere the Rainbow with Craft Tacky Glue to the embossed card

  2. Apply Foam Tape to the back of the card front.

  3. Apply Foam Tape to the Sentiment Strips.

  4. Adhere to the card front.

  5. Adhere sequins to embellish and complete the card.

This color palette is yummy. Don't be surprised if you see it again!

Something about using both sides of the embossed cardstock works here. Don't forget to experiment with both sides of your embossed designs, you might be surprised with what you find. These sequins were also an unexpected surprise with how they complement the color palette!

Pretty sweet I think! Definitely cheery enough to turn around a sucky day!

Thank you SO much for stopping by! Drop me a comment and say hi!
