Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to Day 1 of Simon Says Stamp's Happy Camper Blog Hop! In spite of the campy theme, I surprised myself by creating my first "outer space" projects. Today's make focuses on make a fun Wall Decor piece for a kids room with the adorable "Out of the World" set.

Let's get inky and create a galaxy background shimmering with stars from my FAVORITE new release item - the Splatter Medium, and when the lights are off, it glows with stars from the Simple Simple Stars Stencil and Distress Glow Grit Paste!

CREATING THE 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" GALAXY BACKGROUND

Simple Stars Stencil and Distress Grit Glow Paste on Distress Watercolor Cardstock

TIP: Stencil a second layer of Grit Glow Paste stars over the first after it dries

Distress Spray Stain, Ranger Perfect Pearls Mixed with Water in Distress Sprayer

TIP: Soak up excess stain on stars with a Q-Tip.

Simon Says Stamp Splatter Medium Applied with Tim Holtz Splatter Brush

TIP: A little medium goes a long way so just dip the first quarter inch of the brush into the medium to soak it up into the "bristles".

COLORING & DIE-CUTTING THE OUT OF THIS WORLD SET

STAMPING AND DIE-CUTTING THE SENTIMENT

Stamp using Simon Says Stamp Versafine Nocturne Ink Pad on Rainbow Splash Lime Green Cardstock.

ASSEMBLING THE FRAMED KID'S ROOM WALL DECOR

TIPS:

After laying out the die-cuts on the background, cover with Glad Press N Seal to hold in place and apply foam tape to "pop them up".
Use a black Sharpie Marker to "ink" the edges of 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Simon Says Stamp Chipboard.
Adhere those layers with Craft Glue or Spray Adhesive and the stick to an 8" x 8" piece of Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Black Heavystock before inserting into and 8" x 8" black frame

UP CLOSE AND CRAFTY

Blue and gold floral design on embossed white paper. Gold beads accent the piece. Text reads "through your door" in elegant script. — Our little girl is going places!
