Simon Say Stamp - Stitched Floral Heart Card

Hello Lovelies! Sometimes a beautiful die-cut is all you need to make a card delightful and Simon Says Stamp's To The Moon Release is stuffed with gorgeous die-cuts!

Though I adore stamping, sometimes it's nice to do a card that does not require any stamping. Instead, I decided to bring color with some monochromatic ombre ink-blending and the Pawsitively Saturated Inks make that so easy.

If I am being honest though, the idea that started this card came from the Sun and Moon Sentiment Strip. The minute I read, "Through The Darkness Comes Light", I knew exactly what I wanted to do, from the ombre ink-blending, to the all-white die-cuts.

Here's a quick peek at your key supplies for making this card:

Let's get to die-cutting and inking all the things!!!

THROUGH THE DARKNESS CARD - Ombre Ink-Blended Card Front with Layered White Die-cuts

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Ombre Ink-blended Layer: 3 3/4" x 5 1/2"

Featuring:

A couple of quick notes on this card before I get to the pictorial:

  • I used the large blending brush to create the ombre ink-blended effect

    • Start with a very light layer of ink that fades to white in the upper left corner, gradually deepening the tone as you repeat layering the ink towards the bottom right corner

  • The diecuts are cut out of 110lb Cardstock to showcase their detail to maximum effect

  • The Peony and leaf die-cut is layered twice and the partially layered as shown below so that it can be stacked with the hearts

  • The Slim Plate Detail Petal Die-cut is trimmed to 5 1/2 and adhered to the left side of the card base with Bearly Craft Glue (or your preferred adhesive)

  • The Peony is die-cut 3 times and two complete floral diecuts are adhered together for dimension. Add add a partial layer at the base as shown, so that it is somewhat level with the stacked heart diecuts
