💜 Bright, Bold & Oh-So-Merry Forest Decor: A Modern Twist on Christmas Cards!

Hi Lovelies!
Dear Santa, more stencils, please. I can explain! 🛒😂
If you usually find yourself reaching for traditional evergreen and crimson every holiday season, consider this your permission slip to shake things up. Today, we’re ditching the usual palette in favor of vivid jewel tones—deep violet, radiant magenta, soft lavender, and poppy red.
Between stenciled botanical layers, a modern die-cut tree, and sparkle-packed flower sequins, this cheerful holiday card from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Cheer Release is bold, bright, and unapologetically merry!

🎨 The Palette: Breaking the Holiday Color Rules
Who says holiday greenery has to be green?
By swapping out traditional shades for a high-energy jewel-toned mix, your cards will instantly stand out in any holiday mailbox:
Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves: Gives the holly leaves a punchy, dramatic pop.
Shaded Lilac: Used for delicate foliage sprigs and shadow layers to bring breathing room and balance.
Picked Raspberry, Barn Door and Aged Mahogany: Adds warm holiday cheer to the poinsettia-style blooms, berry clusters, and scripted greetings.
Lost Shadow: Serves as the modern neutral base for our sweet Christmas tree.

🌿 Stenciling the Botanical Border: Fluted Forest Decor
The foundation of this card is built using the Fluted Forest Decor Stencils. Layering stencils make building complex multi-colored backgrounds effortless:
Ink Blending the Foliage: Lay the stencil down over a panel of heavyweight white cardstock and blend your favorite Distress Ink shades. Deep violet was blended across the bold holly leaves, while softer lavender fills in the trailing branch sprigs.
Layering the Berries & Blooms: Switch to the accent stencil layers to pop in the vibrant magenta berry clusters, dot accents, and punchy red flower petals.
The Eyelet Frame Accent: Once ink blending is complete, die-cut the panel using a sweet scalloped, eyelet-stitched rectangle die. The delicate piercing and wavy borders soften the vivid ink colors and frame the botanical wreath beautifully.
Bonus Embossing Potential: The Fluted Forest Decor stencils also have a coordinating 3D embossing folder! While this version keeps the background smooth and ink-focused, running it through the matching folder would take the tactile dimension through the roof!
🎄 Trimming the Tree: CZ Design Simple Trees & Embellishments
With the colorful border setting the stage, it's time to build the focal point:
The Tree Silhouette: Die-cut the minimalist tree from the CZ Design Simple Trees set out of modern fog-gray cardstock.
Tiny Flower "Ornaments": Skip plain enamel dots and reach for sequins! The little tree is trimmed with miniature Fuchsia Tiny Flower sequins, each catching the light and acting as sparkly, whimsical holiday ornaments.
A Red Bow Topper: Crown the tree with a die-cut bright red ribbon bow for a crisp, classic holiday accent.
Dimensional Holiday Wishes: The greeting pairs the bold script Holiday Wishes die (also by CZ Design). Cut the top script letters from festive red cardstock and mount them onto a soft periwinkle shadow outline.
Assembly: Mount the sentiment across the center opening using foam adhesive, then tuck the embellished tree right above the right curve of the greeting. Finish by adhering the entire scalloped panel onto a matching royal purple card base.
💡 Crafty Takeaway: Why Embellished Die-Cuts Shine
When your background is full of vibrant, flat-stenciled patterns, using a clean geometric die-cut (like the Simple Tree) in a cool neutral keeps the focal point clear.
Adding dimensional sequins directly to the die-cut gives it texture and sparkle without cluttering the stenciled botanicals!
