Simon Says Stamp - MID CENTURY ETHEREAL Friendship Card

Hello Lovelies! This post and the next will include two of my now favorite ink-blending combos over 3D Embossing Folders from the Happy Camper release! For this card, we will focus on enhancing the embossing with simple doodling!

To contrast the mostly pastel patterned background, we'll add a stand-out ILYSM sentiment in layers black and white cardstock, before making some custom-colored cardstock for our sentiment phrase.

COLOR PALETTE

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads : Royal, Surf, Heather, Carnation and Cantalope

CARD HIGHLIGHTS

• I got a lot of help with my color palette using Sarah Renee Clark's Color Cubes

  
  

• Dye ink dries quikly so ink your blending brush generously and blend while still damp

  
  

• Let the blended ink dry completly before drawing dots and dashes with the Gelly Roll pen.

• Consider using Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Black Heavystock to make the sentiment, its the deepest black cardstock that I have and makes for a striking ILYSM sentiment against the white outline.

  
  

• Ink-blend a strip of cardstock with the Cantalope ink before stamping the sentiment phrase.

UP CLOSE AND CRAFTY

I'm adding this to my favorite ink blending combos!

Something about that font is fab and using a corner rounder to trim two of the edges of the sentiment strips compliments the embossing folder design.

I have a feeling that I will keep doodling!
