Welcome to Day 2 of Simon Says Stamp's DieCember® 2025 Blog Hop! Today, we are going to Copic-color our way through a cozy inlay project using the folksy LOVE CELEBRATION PLATE and CZ Design's LITTLE WINTER BANNERS.

Why You’ll You'll Enjoy This Inlay Technique

Don't worry that the Love Celebration Plate has lots of small pieces, we have a pretty palette of alcohol-based markers to create a colorful scene without having to cut multiple sheets of caardstock. We'll do the same for the sentiment to create a harmonious card full of warm wishes for our loved ones.

LOVE CELEBRATION PLATE CARD - Die-Cutting, Copic Coloring, and Inlaying

COLOR PALETTE

Copic Marrkers - R01, R22, YG45, BG32, BG53

Ohuhu Marker - G080

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Die-cut: Die-cut the Love Celebration Plate out of Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock and out of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock. Carefully leave all the white die-cut pieces intact in the die-cut white plate background and remove the Fog die-cut pieces from the die-cut Fog plate background. Die-cut the Little Winter Banners out of Neenah Solar White 110lb.
Card Base: Adhere the Fog Love Celebration Background without the die-cut inserts to the front of a card base with Craft Glue.
Color and Inlay: Refer to the card picture above and color each piece corresponding to the R01 Marker. Use Craft Glue and a pair of tweezers to inlay them into the prepared front of the card base, pressing down gently to adhere. Repeat for each marker color until all the corresponding pieces are inlaid.
Sentiment: Finish by coloring the sentiment top layer and adhering to the bottom layer with Craft Glue.

UP CLOSE AND CRAFTY
