Hello, lovelies! I couldn't really tell you how I came up with the idea for a Rainbow Rock Candy Bottle Brush Tree, but I am so glad the it worked out as I pictured it in my head. Now I have some handcrafted Christmas decor for the holiday season.
Today's project combines Clear and Chunky Rock Candy glitter on an alcohol ink tinted bottle brush tree, and if you like, a few tinted mica Snowflakes for a final touch.

PROJECT WALKTHROUGH
OPTIONAL STEP:
You can consider further enhancing the shimmer with a few tinted Tim Holtz Distress Snowflakes. This blog post explains the process. I am mentioning it now as you will need to prep this first before starting on your tree. This is truly a "nice to have", but by no means essential, your tree will still be a sparkling wonder without it. Picture of the tinted snowflakes below for reference.

TINTING WITH ALCOHOL INK
Tip: Wear gloves and make sure your room is well ventilated

APPLYING THE ADHESIVE & GLITTER
Place the tree on a clean sheet of paper towel
Use a palette knife to carefully apply a generous amount of Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium around the first color section of the tree, going slowly and working in small dabs
Dust the section with generous amount of the Clear Glitter and Chunky Glitter mixed in the ratio 1/3 Chunky to 2/3 Clear. Focus on getting it all through the tree.
Use the paper towel to gather and tip the excess back into the container with your mixture.
OPTIONAL: Finish with about a teaspoon of the coordinating tinted Snowflakes sprinked on the outermost part of the tree for maximum visibility.

Repeat the above with each color section of tree.
Prop up securely and let dry overnight.

UP CLOSE AND CRAFTY

This is simple but fun, so if you are in need of some rainbow Christmas decor, consider making this glittery confection.
