Tim Holtz - Ranger Halloween 2021

Hello Lovelies! Get ready to spray ALL the things with Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink's 6 Seasonal Halloween Distress Mica Sprays!

The Mica gives these yummy colors a pearlescent sheen so you can level-up your Halloween makes. I didn't even get to the Glitter, Grit and Texture Paste in my cards today!!! The Grit Paste is divine as it has an eerie translucency to it, you'll see what I mean in my swatches below.

Simon Says Stamp has bundle with all the new goodies for $42.99, so you don't have to make any hard choices. LOL!!!

I made 2 cards for you today, one with a Halloween vibe and one for sharing some everyday love, but before we get to the card, I made swatches Lovelies!!! For me to understand how I want to work with a color, I've got to see it in it's purest form and swatches allow me to do that.

Let's get even closer, so you can warm up to these Seasonal colors and textures. From left to right you have: Empty Tomb; Crooked Broomstick; Jack-O-Lantern; Flickering Candle; Bubbling Cauldron; Hocus Pocus.

From left to right here you have: Nightfall Glitter; Midnight Mica Flakes; Crypt Grit Paste; and Grave Texture Paste.

How can you not adore these???

Now that you have seen the swatches, let's get to the cards!

UNWINDING WITH YOU CARD - Mica Sprays on 3D embossed backgrounds and die-cutting out of Mica-sprayed cardstock

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Featuring:

I am not doing a walkthrough per se for this card as it's pretty straightforward to put together, but I took a few process photos for some of the diecuts and will share a few tips about what I did.

  1. Use Heavystock for the embossed background and the diecuts

  2. Saturate the Heavystock with the Mica Spray and blot the edges where the spray may pool, so that a build-up does not accumulate

  3. Dry with a heat tool and wipe excess Mica off of the dried cardstock

I recently discovered Sizzix Sticky Grid and they are literally saving my crafty life. Mine here is a bit grungy looking, but that's because they are reusable and boy am I re-using it!

  1. A Splat Box is a life-saver when spray-painting. A regular cardboard box will also work, but is not as pretty. LOL

  2. Use Sticky Grid to line-up and hold in place the stacked rectangles to create a series of small rectangular frames

  3. Sticky Grid is also perfect for placing your alphabet dies closer together and maximizing cardstock

  4. "Hey Boo" is die-cut from Heavystock sprayed with Flickering Candle which is layered on white scrap cardstock for dimension

I don't often do neutral colors, but I am really happy with how this came together!

My hubby is not fond of bright colors so I think will appreciate this card (he better, because I am giving it to him!). LOL!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN CARD - Mica Sprays on 3D embossed backgrounds and die-cutting out of Mica-sprayed cardstock

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Featuring:

I would never normally put think of putting these colors together but I wanted to use the two of the colors that come together in the blister pack and I am super tickled about about how the purple and green (Hocus Pocus and Bubbling Cauldron) came together on my creepy brick wall! :-)

  1. Spider Webs - Distress Spray Brushed Pewter

  2. Spider - Flickering Candle Distress Mica Spray

  3. Hey Boo - Jack-O-Lantern Distress Mica Spray

Here you can see where I directed the green and purple spray on the embossed cardstock.

That little spider had so many costume changes before I decided that Flickering candle was the right color for it!

I had fun bringing bold colors to this Halloween Card.

Don't forget to tell me which one was your personal favorite.

See you soon!
