Simon Says Stamp - PRETTY PETALS Friendship Card

Writer: Keisha DiannKeisha Diann

Red embossed Christmas Card with All The Joy sentiment.

Hello Lovelies! I feel like Simon Says Stamp is spoiling me with all these yummy inks that we are getting in the releases? Every color in the rainbow and then some! This card is ALL about the inks.

These earthy-toned Pawsitively Saturated dye inks are great for layering together, as they complement each other so well. I paired a yellow from the previous release with two of what I am calling the southwestern-inspired red-oranges. The card is finished off with soft brown petals and use white pigment ink to highlight my embossed khaki cardstock.

COLOR PALETTE

Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads - Brick, Terracotta, Honey, Cappuccino

CARD WALKTHROUGH

LAYERED STAMPING

  1. Follow the labeled diagram below to identify the referenced stamp

  2. Stamp A1 and D1 in Intense Black Ink

  3. Stamp A2 in Clay

  4. Stamp A3 in Brick

  5. Stamp A4 and D3 in Honey

  6. Stamp A5 and D2 in Cappuccino

EMBOSSING

  1. HEAT EMBOSSING - Stamp the sentiment in Intense Black Ink, dust with clear embossing powder and heat set.

  2. DRY EMBOSSING - place a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock in the Streaming Embossing Folder. Using the side with the raised "wavy lines", gently skim the surface of the ink pad along the lines to enhance them.

FINISHING

  1. Layer the white card front with the stamped flower onto the embossed panel, by popping it up with foam tape.

  2. Adhere the embossed panel to a card base to finish.

The wavy lines become all the more beautiful with the white highlighting. Also, I hope this encourages you to think about whether you can use the other side of your embossed panel. Both are pretty in this case but to me, the flow of the lines seem to mimic the movement of the flower.

I just love these colors!

These vibrant sequins add the perfect finishing touch here!

All done, and as I always say, "all pretty"!
