Simon Says Stamp - ORGANIC LEAVES Father's Day Card

Red embossed Christmas Card with All The Joy sentiment.

Hello Lovelies! Every now and then I get a crafting product that I know exactly what I want it to look like when I'm done using it. In Simon Says Stamp's Celebrate Release, the Organic Leaves Stamp was that for me.

I wanted a pattern reminiscent of a Batik print and I thought that I could make it happen with some monochromatic inks and little water.

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads - Marine, Cadette, Royal and Iris

NOTE: I didn't take process photos with the blue background so I will demonstrate the same technique with the green background below.

  1. Adhere a 6" x 6" piece of white cardstock to a Stamp and Stencil Mat.

  2. Secure the Organic Leaves Stamp over the cardstock.

  3. Ink the stamp all over with the lightest color Pawsitively Saturated Ink (Marine/Sprout)and stamp as shown.

  4. Ink a few sections of the stamp using the darkest color ink (Iris/Field) and stamp.

  5. Repeat with the second darkest in other sections of the stamp (Royal/Fairway)

  6. Add a few random touches of the last color (Marine/Tropic) to the stamp and apply the stamp to the paper.

  7. Mist the stamp with water and whatever residual ink remains on it and stamp a final time to achieve the distressed watercolor effect.

  8. Trim cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Retain scraps for another project :-)

  1. Trim the Fancy Dad and Father Greetings Foil Transfer card to isolate one "Father" transfer

  2. Trim the foil to s similar size

  3. Place the foil "pretty side up" on the father transfer and slide between a folded piece of parchment paper

  4. Run your "foil sandwich" through a heat laminator.

  5. Peel away the foil to reveal the foiled greeting

  1. Use the Fancy Father outline die to die-cut the foiled greeting

  2. Die-cut Blue Violet Cardstock using the Plentiful Petals dies

  1. Stamp the "you've taught me so much" in Clear Ink on Black Cardstock

  2. Dust with White Embossing Powder and heat set

  3. Trim the cardstock to a strip

  1. Use foam tape to pop up the watercolor panel

  2. Tuck the die-cut leaf sprigs under the Father greeting and adhere with craft glue

  3. Pop up the flowers with small foam dots

  4. Pop up the black strip sentiment with foam tape and adhere to the watercolor panel

  5. Adhere the watercolor panel to a card-base

  6. Adhere watercolor panel to a Blue Violet Card Base

  7. Adhere the sequins with craft glue to embellish the card front

I love that no two cards like this will be alike!

I guess you can never have too much blue!

The shimmer on the filing echoes the shimmer of the sequins!

Wishing your family a Happy Dad Day!
