Simon Says Stamp - MARCH 2024 Card Kit, MIX AND MATCH BUTTERFLIES

Hello Lovelies! You don't have to do much to get me to craft with butterflies so I was pretty tickled when I opened Simon Says Stamp's Mix and Match Butterflies Card Kit.

I usually make a few cards with each kit, but this one was stuck in my head and I took my time with it, my only regret is that I forgot to try out the wobbles that come with this kit to animate by little butterfly!!!

HIGHLIGHTS:

STAMPING

• Trim the yellow cardstock to 4" x 5 1/2"

• Use Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink to stamp the sentiment in the top right of the cardstock

DRY EMBOSSING

• Use the Dibble Tile Embossing Folder to emboss the yellow cardstock. Both sides are pretty but I actually used the de-bosssed side for this card front

• Pop up with foam tape

WET EMBOSSING

• Stamp the butterfly wings on the top left of the set, the butterfly body and all the flowers on to Distress Watercolor paper

• Heat emboss the images using the gold glitter powder

COLORING

• Color the butterfly from the tips of the wings towards the center blending blue in green colors and filling in the dots and details on the wings with mixes of a coral pink and orange. Use a brownish-green for the butterfly body.

• Use a mix of those same colors on the flowers

• The colors are not that important, just use your watercolor marker of choice in these tones and have fun

DIE-CUTTING & ASSEMBLY

• match the dies to the images and die-cut

• Use the craft glue to attach the butterfly wings to the body

• Attach an action wobbler underneath and adhere to the embossed yellow card front

• adhere the flowers with craft glue and pop a few up with foam dots for dimension

This embossing folder captures such beautiful details!

I think you can see why I have a fondness for butterflies!

I love when I get sentiments that combine plain and fancy fonts.
