Hi Lovelies!
Welcome to Day 1 of Simon Says Stamp's DieCember® Release Blog Hop! The Elegant Ornament Dies stole my heart and so of course I had to make a pair of cards with them!
I was overthinking the color palette for at least an hour and somehow ended up here after seeking some inso on Pinterest. :-)
I have a special place in my heart for statement dies that are easy to assemble like this ornament and the sentiments that adorn each card. The joy card is just lot's of easy layering of Die-cuts so I won't focus on that as much, instead we will walk through the Celebrate card.
But first, let's review the key supplies for today's cards:
Supplies are linked throughout the post and then again in the Supplies Section at the end of this post. Check out the entire DieCember® release by clicking the image below:

CARD WALKTHROUGH (Celebrate)
Trim Midnight Green cardstock to 4" x 5 1/2" and a piece of Clear Acetate to 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Use the outline layer of the Elegant Ornament Wafer Dies to create an opening for the ornament-shaped shaker "window"
Die-cut the cardstock using the Snowflake Burst Pinpoint Plate
Use double-sided tape to adhere the Clear Acetate over the back side of the opening
Adhere foam tape as shown to the back of the window
Trim and score Cotton Candy Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Place sequin Embellishment Mix Champagne on top of the front flap of the folded card base
Center the popped-up die-cut layer with the window over the card base and adhere
Die-cut each layer of the Elegant Ornament Wafer Dies as shown on the Celebrate card out of the selected cardstock colors (retain the red petals that fall out of the outline layer as you will be inlaying them on the ornament)
Adhere the layers with craft glue and pop-up with Foam Tape
Die-cut the sentiment out of Midnight Green Die-cut the sentiments out of Midnight Green and Glitter cardstock (for the Celebrate sentiment under-layer)
Adhere the sentiment layers with craft glue and slightly off-set the Celebrate glitter layer so that it peeks out from the right at the bottom
Adhere the ornament and sentiment to finish
JOY CARD GALLERY
I adore the magic that a pinpoint plate can make on a blank piece of paper!
The ornament is inlaid on this card and then adorned with the Florence Medallion and a red pearl.
Layering the Joy die-cut in the same color almost makes it looks like the sentiment has been embossed.
A very festive addition to your Holiday Card options!
CELEBRATE CARD GALLERY
I am really happy about this color palette, so I hope you like it too, but go ahead and switch up the colors and make it your own!
Layers of ornaments with a little shaker action!
That peek of glitter allows the sentiment to stand out against the matching background.
A very festive addition to your Holiday Card options!
