Simon Say Stamp - Winter Trees Card

Hello Lovelies! I love how an embossing folder can take you from nothing to delightful in seconds. Simon Says Stamp dropped 15 embossing folders in their Handmade Holiday release and they are perfect for jumpstarting a Christmas card as we count down the days to through the season!!!

Today, we are going to work some Perfect Pearls magic using one of these gorgeous folders to highlight the dry embossing and then use that same powder to bring to life a stamped sentiment!

Today's card is all about Simon Say's Stamp's NEW Winter Trees Embossing Folder and Ranger Ink Perfect Pearls Powder paired with bold sentiments from Simon Say Stamp's XL Christmas Greeting Stamp set and key some embossing supplies!

A full supply list is linked in the gallery at the bottom of this post for your convenience.

Let's get to making!

WINTER TREES CARD - Embossed Cardstock Accented with Perfect Pearls

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Card Front: 4" x 5 1/2"

Featuring:

Good news Lovelies, this card is simple and fun to make so I have a few pictures and steps to guide you through the process!

Embossing & Highlighting with Perfect Pearls

  1. Emboss the Smoke Cardstock using the Winter Trees Embossing Folder

  2. Use the Tim Holtz Embossing Ink Pens (not pictured below) to highlight the raised tree image on the cardstock

  3. Use a brush to dust Perfect Pearls Perfect Gold Powder over the trees that are now inked with Embossing Ink

  4. Brush away excess powder

Splattering

  1. Twist off the spray top with nozzle from the Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain bottle

  2. There will be a little ink inside the nozzle, use a pencil or other implement to gently tap against the nozzle to splatter onto the paper

  3. Dip the nozzle back into the bottle to get a little more paint and repeat splattering if needed to give the scene a "wintry" look

Creating Perfect Pearl Sentiment

  1. Prepare black cardstock by dusting it with an embossing buddy powder bag

  2. Ink "Wishing You So Much Love & Peace" sentiment with the Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink

  3. Stamp onto black cardstock

  4. Dust wet inked sentiment with Perfect Pearls Perfect Gold Embossing Powder

  5. Mist with water to set the powder and let dry (alternatively you can use a fixative)

  6. Diecut the sentiment

Finishing

  1. Stamp and diecut the other sentiment

  2. Pop up your card front and sentiment layers with foam tape

  3. Assemble as shown below

With a dusting of sparkly powder, this card got quickly glamourous!

Lovelies, thanks so much for stopping by! I am really enjoying these new embossing folders and experimenting with new ways to make them magical

See you soon!
