Papertrey Ink - August 2021 Release

I am so thrilled to be guesting for Papertrey Ink's August 2021 release! They are the first crafting brand that I bought online when I started exploring beyond Stampin' Up many years ago and I have been hoarding (sorry, collecting their stamps) ever since.

One of the things that Papertrey does so well is to make beautiful, intricate, scene-building dies. So my very first project with their new seasonal release for Fall/Winter is a Christmas card using their Scene Everywhere Winter Stamp Set.

I am not the most delicate person in the craft room, so I sometimes worry that small, delicate designs will suffer in my hands, but somehow Papertrey Ink's stamps work magic even in my clumsy hands. The small pieces layer beautifully and you can build your scene with ink or by using the matching die-cuts.

I resisted a traditional color palette and went for shades of blue, violet, green and grey. Choose a dark shade and a light shade of each color if you want to try this out.

Wonderful Card - Stamped, Diecut and Layered Scene

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Keys Steps:

  1. Stamp each layer of the image

    1. Snowdrifts - violet and light grey (not pictured)

    2. Trees - green

    3. Frame - grey

    4. Picture background - paper inked light blue with dark blue snow and moon

  2. Diecut each stamped image

  3. Select the snowflake, swirl and star stamps from the set, place on a stamping block and stamp in a random pattern onto the front a white card base in a random pattern

  4. Assemble and adhere the scene to the card base using foam tape to support the top part of the frame as the bottom part will be stacked with the tree and snowdrift diecuts

  5. Stamp the "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" sentiment onto the card front

This card is much quicker than you think!

I hope you enjoyed this walkthrough of this sweet scene. Let me know in the comments if you have tried Papertrey Ink before.

Beautiful winter scene. I'm not a good scene builder, but this set seems easy to take the mental difficulty out of the equation.
