Hello Lovelies! I always have a sense of wonder about how you blending brushes and beautiful inks can help you recreate natural scenes in your card-making. Today we'll use the Fresh Crocus Duo from the In My Heart Release with a focus on realistic ink blended florals to make the sweetest card for Mom.
A few tips from me to get you started:
SELECT A PHOTO OR ARTWORK TO GET INSPIRED.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE OF BLENDING BRUSHES.
GO FOR LIGHT LAYERS OF COLOR IMITATE THE REAL THING!

It's not just about the color, consider the shape and placement of your flowers when building a scene.

COLOR PALETTE
Distress Ink Pads: Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Frayed Burlap, Pumice Stone
Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads - Kale

BACKGROUND
Heat emboss the Nature in Bloom Stamp Background onto Starlight Cardstock using Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink.

FENCES


Die-cut.
Ink the vertical slats with Pumice Stone and the horizontal slats with Frayed Burlap using a Simon Says Stamp Flat Detail Blending Brush.

Adhere the slats to the fence background.
CROCUSES

Die-cut.

Ink 3 sets of bloom layers with the Mustard Seed and Wild Honey colors using a Small Blending Brush. Repeat with 4 sets of the bloom layers using Shaded Lilac, and then Wilted Violet.

Add little touches of Seedless Preserves to produce a more complex and rich color gradient.
Ink the leaves with Twisted Citron and darken with Mowed Lawn using a Small or Round Detail Blending Brush.
SENTIMENT

Ink the sentiment with Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves inks using a Round Detail Blending Brush.
