Crafting With Whimsy For A Creative St. Patrick's Day Card

St. Patrick's Day card with shamrocks and a hat design, set on green and orange. Text: Simon Says Stamp, Irish Bits, coloring, die-cutting, stenciling.

Hello Lovelies! Sometimes I do the silliest things when making cards and that makes it even more fun. I added two things that have NOTHING to do with a St. Patrick's Day card to make my whimsical creative St. Patrick's Day Card. The Bow and Basic Shapes Nested Egg Die Set from the Beautiful Moments Release became the "head" and a ludicrously outsized bow on a top hat for no discernible reason! LOL

  1. Yellow card with white floral pattern featuring two cartoon guinea pigs, daisies, and green leaves. Text: "hello, IT'S GUINEA BE A GREAT DAY."
I made a Mr. Potato Head: St. Patrick's Day Edition!

COLOR PALETTE

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks: Sprout, Fairway and Field

Three white square ink pads on a white tray against a grid background. Labeled "Sprout," "Fairway," and "Field" with green designs.

CARD HIGHLIGHTS

  1. COLORING - Use alcohol-based markers in shades of grey, green and yellow to color the stamped Irish Bits images and die-cut with the matching dies. Also die-cut Mint cardstock with the Basic Shapes Nested Egg die.

  2. STENCILING - Use a blending brush to ink-blend the selected green inks from light to darkest through the openings in the Falling Shamrocks stencil.

  3. INKING - Die-cut the Double Bow out of white cardstock and use a small blending brush to apply the inks to the die-cut pieces and then adhere with Craft Glue to assemble.

UP CLOSE AND CRAFTY

St. Patrick's Day card with a black top hat, green shamrocks, and a green bow. "Happy St. Patrick's Day" text in bold. Festive mood.
That bow is going to need it's own card someday!

I have one regret here, I should have inked Mr. Patrick Potato Head around the edges to create some highlights and shadows!
