Tim Holtz Ranger NEW Alcohol Ink Colors - Organizing Tips & Swatches, July 2024

Hello Lovelies! What a lovely surprise this was to get new colors in Tim Holtz's Alcohol Ink line! These post is really all about just showing off the colors in the swatches I made, so that you can get a better sense of the colors and perhaps figure out your favorites, even if it is all of them!

Swatching is a must for some people and tedious for others, but if you don't enjoy swatching, don't worry, that's what I'm here for. :-)

Simon Says Stamp has a bundle with the new colors, so you can snag the full set, or just buy individually your must-haves.

ALL THE NEW COLORS!

A couple of additional tools come in handy for me when swatching alcohol inks:

Also essential are some Frog Tape Painter's Tape and some 90% Rubbing Alcohol and a well-ventilated room.

STORAGE

When it comes to storage, you have many choices, my favorites include:

  • Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Storage Tin

  • Nail Polish Organizers

  • Acrylic Containers

Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Storage Tin - holds up to 30 0.5 oz Alcohol Ink Bottles

NAIL POLISH ORGANIZERS

Some nail polish bottles have a similar diameter to the the Alcohol Ink bottles, so slotting your inks into them may be an option you want to explore, especially if they have a grid for each bottle to keep them in your preferred color order.

ACRYLIC CONTAINERS

Another good option is to use an acrylic or clear container for easy access, mobility and to keep them all together!

ORGANIZING

BOTTLE CAP COLOR LABELS

Storing inside of any of the suggested containers means that it having some bird's eye-view of the colors would be helpful. I use a 1/4" hole punch to create little color labels for the bottle caps that I apply using a dry adhesive like a glue dot or a tape runner.

SWATCHING

ALCOHOL INK COLOR CARDS

A few years ago, I decided to devote a Saturday afternoon to creating swatches for the many inks I collected over the years. Let's just say it took a while!

If you want the details on how, click the picture below to head over to my YouTube channel and watch the tutorial.
