Elevate Your Embossing By Coloring With Alcohol Markers for Sweet Easter Card

Easter card features pastel bunnies and flowers on a yellow background. A green bunny with "Hoppy Easter" text overlays. Pink envelope underneath.

Hello Lovelies! I'm maximizing my Bunny-based crafting this month with another selection from the bumper crop of embossing folders in the Beautiful Moments Release! Easter brings some of my favorite childhood memories to mind with pastel colors, exuberant hats, only surpassed by a yummy Easter Sunday dinner.

I thought about some of those glorious hats when choosing the colors for today's sweet Easter card. Here are for a three tips to save your sanity when coloring embossed cards:

  1. CHOOSE YOUR FOLDER WISELY

  2. BE PATIENT AND GO SLOWLY

  3. MISTAKES WILL HAPPEN, YOU NOW HAVE AN EMBELLISHMENT OPPORTUNITY!

I just noticed the contrast between the embossed background and the debossed bunny!

TIPS FOR COLORING EMBOSSING FOLDER

  1. CHOOSE YOUR FOLDER WISELY - My coloring level is mid-grade, so I consider what folders might be easier for me to to color.

    1. I choose the Little Bunnies as I intended to leave the bunnies white, i.e. less for me to color.

    2. Also it had lots of negative space which would allow for a striking contrast between the bunnies and the background.

    3. Finally, the small flowers would not be too hard to color with the small bullet tip of my markers.

  2. BE PATIENT AND GO SLOWLY - This one is self explanatory.

  3. MISTAKES WILL HAPPEN - Lately, I've been fond of using my acrylic marker pens, particularly the white one in this card to cover up my boo-boos. Also, a strategically placed die-cut (bunny) or embellishment (pearls) can also cover up your faux-pas!
