Craft A Sweet Fall Friendship Card for Your Favorite Person With The APPLE OF MY EYE Set

Greeting card with blue flowers and yellow butterflies on a green background. Text reads "hello friend." Bright and cheerful design.

Hello Lovelies! When I shared this card on Instagram, I remembered that going apple-picking is still on my bucket list. I have a dear friend that each year we try to do one new thing together and I think an apple-picking adventure would be a great choice for 2025. So I made this simple card with her in mind.

On a separate note, all STAMPtember I've been trying to work on my coloring through immersion, taking every opportunity to keep practicing and incorporating incremental changes to my attempts. In the Fall scene below, I've combined simple ink-blending ,with trying to create textures and patterns in the "grassy area" and the "leaves" of the apple tree. Crafting is not just my retreat, but also a reward when I make small improvements and I get to share with all of you.

Cute animal tags with pumpkins, leaves, and autumn colors. Text: "HELLO, PUMPKIN," "SO THANKFUL FOR YOU," "HELLO, AUTUMN," "YOU'RE THE PICK OF THE PATCH."
My favorite character is the cat with the apple almost as big as her!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Color the Apple of My Eye images with alcohol markers and die-cut them with the matching dies.

  • TIP: When trying to create textures or leave marks when alcohol ink coloring, let the base layer dry before adding the marks (leaves or grass in this case). This allows the marks not to blend into the background which may happen while the alcohol is still wet.

Cute animals interacting with food: a cat with an apple, a bear with a drink, a squirrel with apples, and others on a grassy hill with an apple tree.

  • Cut the postage background from white cardstock and use Blending Brushes and the selected ink pads to blend a "sunny blue sky over a grassy field". :-)

  • Stamp with the selected sentiment from the Apple of My Eye stamp set.

  • Arrange your die-cuts on the background, adhering with Craft Glue and foam squares to pop-up some ements as shown. (The cling film helps hold various elements in position until they are adhered,
