It's Beginning to Look a Little Like Christmas...

...at the PaperMint.

This was actually my first Holiday Card design for 2017, my icebreaker so to speak.

I don't know if you are like me and you have days where you may struggle with a single design and others where a rush of inspiration produces work that you are happy with.

I happened to receive some Happy Mail with products from Vicki Boutin's mixed media line and Concord & 9th's September 2017 release at the same time. I have a lot to learn regarding mixed media but could not wait to start playing with them both and see what I could come up. This is the first card from that strange mash up:

I have always loved rainbows and I don't subscribe to a traditional color palette for Holiday Cards. Strong black graphics over a bright background seems a favorite recipe for me lately and I love how it turned out here.

This card was as quick as it is bright. I don't think that I could ever get tired of Distress Ink. If you are struggling with blending:

1) be patient with yourself,

2) start blending off page on a piece of scrap paper or your craft mat, and

3) use a light touch; that color will build up quickly
