Altenew Quiet Reflections Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Inks/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop

Hi Lovelies!

Altenew has pulled out all the stops for the Quiet Reflections Blog Hop today! Stamps, Dies, Stencils, Embossing Folders, Decals and INKS!!! Do you get as excited about new ink colors as I do? Well you are in for a treat!

I did four projects for you today and after you browse my makes, be sure to visit Virginia Lu's blog for even more crafty goodness! When you are ready to shop, check out the release collection page to find all the new stuff in one place.

Don't forget to comment before you leave so that you can be eligible to participate in the fabulous Giveaway and be sure not to miss the Special Offers! Enough lecturing from me, let's get to the projects.

Card 1 - Everything Comes To You...

I went straight to the new Northern Shore Ink Set for my first card, as I found it impossible to resist these blues!!!

Check out these colors and you will understand my haste to try them out!

I paired 3 of the 4 Northern Shore inks with the rose in the Tranquility Rose Stamp Set. I colored the rose using the inks with the coordinating Tranquility Rose Simple Coloring Stencil Set to guide me and then diecut with the matching die set. The stamp, stencil and dies come a convenient bundle offered at 5% off!

I could not believe how easy the stencils were to use to layer ink colors from light to dark and the ink layering guide will walk you through each step!

I tend to overthink my color selections...sometimes with some curious results, but I went with my gut here and somehow this odd mix came together beyond my expectations!

With all my pieces colored and diecut, I was ready to create a little collaged bouquet. I needed a backdrop though for my bouquet, so I quickly used the Trellis Stencil to ink my card base with Icy Water Crisp Dye Ink.

Finally ready for assembly, I realized that I might I have to do quite a bit of fiddling to get all the pieces into a desirable layout and that I might need a little help to keep that arrangement intact as I transfer it onto the card front.

Tip: Since I ended up with 8 pieces to this little puzzle, I decided to use my Glad Press and Seal to temporarily hold things in place. After I applied the Press and Seal on top of the bouquet, I flipped it over and added adhesive to the undersides and in-between layers before pressing it onto the prepared card front.

Sometimes I make microwave cards and sometimes I make slow cooker cards! :-) This was a slow cooker and I think that it was worth it!

Card 2 - Serenity...

Speaking of microwave cards... The Peaceful Serenity Stamp Set seemed perfect for the least fussy card that I have ever made!!!

The card is all about the seamless ink blend of all of the Northern Shore Inks.

I was honestly surprised at how easy this was to do with dye inks vs. pigment inks. Dye inks are often not that forgiving, but I have absolutely no complaints here!

The card is finished with some straightforward stamps and embossing.

Card 3 - You are Beautiful...

Being born and raised in the Caribbean, I was so happy to see the large Hibiscus blooms in the You Are Beautiful Stamp Set. Hibiscus plants lined both sides of the walkway in the home that I grew up in and so this set was even more special to me, bringing back fond memories.

Like the Tranquility Rose, the You Are Beautiful set comes in a bundle that includes the coloring stencil and matching die at 5% off.

Prompted by my memories of growing up on an island, I choose a tropical color palette, but the Layering Guide for this set has a gorgeous selection of colors for you to test out:

Though this set allows you to color by stamping layers, I decided to stick with the coordinating You Are Beautiful Simple Coloring Stencil which is super easy to use. Below are the colors that I selected for my flower:

I wanted a contrasting and vibrant background for the flowers so I went for a wild mix of pink, red and purple tones and then added texture with the Angled Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder!

Coloring and cutting done, all that was needed was a sentiment from the stamp set and I was ready to layer with a little help from my Press n' Seal. :-)

Its a bit loud, but as per usual, I am ok with that!

I couldn't be done without a smattering of Shades of Purple Enamel Dots.

Card 4 - Merry

The Blissful Blossoms Stamp Set is undeniably the star of this show and though I have made this a Holiday-themed card, this is an all-year round set, depending on your color choices and layout!

You can see all the gorgeous layers below. The floral elements are organized into labeled groups, so that it is easy to tell what stamps should be layered together.

In addition, the layering guide helps it all come together!

I selected traditional reds and greens for my festive card:

This may look like it took a while but I was surprised at how quickly it came together and all that it needed to finish it was a bold sentiment on strip of vellum and a coordinating red card base.

The Bold Alphabet Die Set was perfect for this and is a staple that I return to time and time again!

I hope that you enjoyed today's projects and you found a little something to add to you Holiday Shopping List! :-) On my list, I am going to snag the other new ink colors!!!
